Usual IRLP procedure:
Wait and listen to make sure the local repeater is not in use.
Call, eg: "This is VKX123 using the IRLP node"
• pause
Transmit the 4 digit DTMF tones of the remote node you want to talk to.
Make your call on the remote node, eg: "This is VKX123... "
• pause 3 seconds at the start of each over to allow for the internet delay and any break-ins.
When you've finished, sign off on the remote node, eg: "This is VKX123, I'll close the node now..."
Transmit "73" via your DTMF pad to disconnect the link.
Wait until you hear the unlink completed and sign clear.
