Broadcast - 4 January 2026

Well, we are well and truly into the start of a New Year and NTARC would like to wish all listeners a Happy New Year and all the best for 2026. We also wish you good luck towards your New Year’s Eve resolutions. Hi-Hi. My resolution for this year is the same as always, “1024 by 768”…… Sorry about the “dad joke”, if you don’t get it check out last Thursday nights Slow Scan TV net pictures!

Now some “House Keeping” for 2026:

Thanks Phil VK7ZPD, for continuing to provide the weekly State-wide broadcast audio on the NTARC Discord channel over the Christmas New-year break and throughout the year. Sometimes this is done by remote control of his equipment in Launceston while he was away taking time off with the family, that’s dedication, thank you Phil.

This week sees the return of the On Air Test and Technical Net session Wednesday the 7th of January, Test-Net and CW course on 3.580 MHz from 7 pm, then a Technical Net on 3.567 MHz from 7.30 pm till 8.30 pm. Your host for the evening will be a recharged and reinvigorated Nic, VK7WW.

On the social face to face get-together side of things, the Friday morning tea at the NTARC club rooms will also commence this Friday the 9th of January.

2026 Membership fees - I have been asked, by the Treasurer, to pass on thanks to all members who have paid their renewals. But also a gentle reminder to fill-in the online renewal information form at our NTARC website so he can update our records and start compiling a members’ shared contact register. The renewal information form can be found at the NTARC website in the “Members” area. Instructions were included in the membership renewal email that was sent out in December last year.

If you haven’t received this letter and you have checked your “Junk” folder, please email the secretary@ntarc.net with your correct e-mail details. NTARC’s 2026 membership fees are still $45.00 for a Full voting member and $5 additional for each Family member that the voting member wishes to add to his or her primary membership.

If club membership is not your cup of tea, we fully understand and we thank those people that have made direct donations towards club.

If you are a repeater user or would just like to support its funding we would also be happy to receive your contribution towards ongoing repeater maintenance.

Donations can be made either in person at a club meeting or coffee morning, or by post to PO BOX 275 Launceston 7250. Any donation will be gladly accepted and officially receipted.

The Annual General Meeting of NTARC will take place on Wednesday the 11th February 2026 at the NTARC Club Rooms, Rocherlea Scout Hall, Archer Street Rocherlea commencing at 19:30 hours (7.30 pm). Please start thinking about who you would like nominated for the new 2026 committee. Club members are reminded that they will need to be 2026 financially current to be able to nominate or vote at the Annual General Meeting.
