SSTV NET - 28 March 2024

On Thursday night Northern & NW operators were once again able to join the Southern SSTV Net via VK7RJG in the North on Mt. Arthur and VK7RAF in the South. Nearly thirty images were transferred via the state wide linkup that started about 7:30pm. This week’s theme was “Test Equipment” and featured:

• Vintage AVO instruments. A universal measuring bridge type 1 and a signal generator type T.F.M.

• Tektronix cathode ray oscilloscopes or CROs, one using solid state electronics and the other in a very large case using vacuum tubes

• A Trio 1560 and a HP 1222 CRO

• A BWD 539C CRO displaying single and then dual alpha/numeric traces

• A Sanwa test oscillator, B & K Precision RF generator and a HP 3400 RMS volt meter

• An IFR 1000 communications service monitor

• Modern hand held NanoVNA or vector network analyser and a TinySA or spectrum analyser

• various audio oscillators, frequency counters, Fluke multi meter and capacitance testers

• A digital readout micrometer

Remember Ken VK7KRJ’s and Steve VK7OO’s fully automatic 24/7 monitoring site that allows anyone who has sent an SSTV picture the ability to check them on their pages almost immediately, any time, both South and North Tasmania.
