SSTV NET - 4 April 2024

On Thursday night Northern & NW operators were once again able to join the Southern SSTV Net via VK7RJG in the North on Mt. Arthur and VK7RAF in the South. Forty images were transferred via the statewide linkup that started about 7:30pm.

The highlights were:

• The tilt-over angle testing of a Double Decker bus and its dynamic testing on the race track

• A vintage bus, a Trolley-bus powered from overhead wires and a new battery powered E-bus

• Rock band drummers – Keith Moon, Ian Piace and Animal from the TV Muppets Show

• Continuing on the Popular Science Monthly themes, this time “Monowheel racing” with lots of examples

• Dick Tracy’s wireless phone watch

• From the recent REAST presentation night the simple organisational chart showing all the various agencies involved with UTC

• The eerie lighting from the computers of a data centre

• From the state election coverage night, someone purporting to be “the son of” one of the veteran politicians

• Siska the dog and a whisky surprise.

Remember Ken VK7KRJ’s and Steve VK7OO’s fully automatic 24/7 monitoring site that allows anyone who has sent an SSTV picture the ability to check them on their pages almost immediately, any time, both South and North Tasmania.
